You’re planting for tomorrow. Not today.
What you build today is to be used tomorrow.
Your ability to sing, your strength from weight lifting, your ability to teach...
It all leads somewhere.
But you doubt that. Don’t you?
We all do.
What’s the point, we say.
You train today to run faster tomorrow. Right after a great workout, you’ll actually be slower because you're fatigued.
So you love, live and train to your capacity now, knowing that baby steps bring you the dream.
Because the dream isn't a fixed point. It's like a rainbow; it's colorful light you move towards and never catch.
You’re in training right now.
So what are you training for?
Look at what you’re learning. Do you desire to influence the outcome? Then choose what to invest your time and energy into developing.
Pick things you enjoy doing, now. If you hate the process, you'll resent the outcome.
If you want to grow sunflowers, plant sunflower seeds.
If you want to be strong, believe in strength.
If you want faith, practice prayer.
If you want self confidence, begin with affirming yourself in the mirror everyday.
The point is that you don’t arrive at the top of Mount Everest overnight. No one does.
Give yourself the space and grace to alleviate the pressure to prove your self worth by achieving unthinkable feats.
This seems obvious and straightforward until you doubt yourself. Until you can’t see the end and think you’re wasting your time.
You’re planting for tomorrow. Not today.
Feed yourself today. Love what you plant, daily. Rise in love with the journey, the habit of planting.
And know that like anything and everything that blossoms, you are investing today so that it blooms tomorrow.
Nothing arrives overnight.
Let this bring you peace.
