Before ballet there was still dance
When I was in 7th grade I boasted that I knew how to sing despite my ability to read music. My teacher scolded me and told me not to take pride in being ignorant. She was probably right.
But the truth is that sheet music isn't necessary to sing or to play an instrument, to make music.
Dance training isn't necessary to dance, to move your feet or for physical expression.
And the list goes on: an MBA isn't needed to start a business, a license isn't needed to teach English, etc…
Voice existed before music notes and movement existed before ballet.
Don't let training be confused with the destination or be seen an obstacle preventing you from moving because no matter your training, you can still play, right?
